Whole over perfect
I work from a deeply held belief in ‘whole over perfect.’ When we are less critical of ourselves and more accepting of our complete selves (body, mind and spirit), we open ourselves up to the world.
We are more than our physical body. We are an interconnected web of body, mind, spirit, stories and thoughts that weave together the whole that is you. As multidimensional beings, we further connect to the ecosystem of trees, water, air and nature as a whole.
Where there are emotions and choices, there are messy situations, and moral hangovers are inevitable. Learn to accept that mistakes happen, and let them teach you something about yourself.
Trying to be perfect is exhausting. And so, I encourage you to to soften your struggle by taking gentle steps towards seeing both the miracle and the mess that are within you, and expressing yourself unapologetically. Build belief in the miracle of yourself through accepting and expressing your natural gifts.
Whole implies wholesome – when you accept your body, your story, your emotions, your emotional authenticity, without self-censoring, by allowing emotions to come as they need to.
Presence with the physical body, defying messaging that tells us to change, particularly as women.
We are also whole when in a community where power and responsibility are shared, where everyone’s strengths contribute to the outcome.
